Aloha ,
How did I happen to move to Hawaii-The Big Island? What’s kept me here for so long? I hear those questions all the time. Every story is unique, as yours will be, should you decide to move or purchase a second home here.
Here’s my story … and how I feel what I’ve learned about living in Hawaii can be helpful to you......
I was one of the first females to participate in the Ironman Triathlon in Hawaii in 1981 and one half of the first couple to complete the Ironman. I moved to Hawaii when I was recruited to be interim race director of the Ironman in 1986.
I moved from downtown Detroit where, I was the creator and producer of the Emily Detroit Run with upwards of 20,000 participants in its heyday . I was co-creator of the "Say Nice Things about Detroit" campaign and the good things we did for Detroit thru my store Emily's Across the Street did not go unnoticed.I was a Michiganian of the Year recipient in 1981 along with Gov James Blanchard running back Billy Sims and Tigers Hall of Famer Al Kaline.
After moving to Hawaii, it wasn't long before the world class golf courses along the Kohala Coast drew me back into the game of golf I had dabbled at professionally many years ago. I started promoting the Kohala Coast Resorts by getting them more involved in the Ironman and as a PR and Marketing Consultant for the Mauna Lani Senior Skins, Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai (formerly MasterCard. and community related events which were showcased thru my Emily T Gail Talk TV shows I produced.
In 1998 the Kona Board of Realtors awarded me with the Civilian Community Enrichment Award, the same year I received my real estate license. My years of marketing the Kohala Coast have provided me with an inside look at the many nuances of each resort that make each resort very unique, with subtle differences in the life styles that I feel can be helpful for you to know.
I am pleased to have recently joined Jana Troute, Owner/Broker Kona Pacific Realty. Jana was my broker at Clark Realty years ago at Mauna Lani Resort.. Good to be working together again.
We hope to work with you and/or be helpful in some way...
